WhiskyFest San Francisco

All the Sophistication of Wine with More Mashismo

Speakeasies, Mad Men, Niners winning?! Retro is in! Get in front of this wave at WhiskyFest—the ultimate tasting for distinguished cognoscente.

WhiskyFest Snifters.jpgInstead of going straight to that Maker’s and ginger, refine your tastes and sensibilities. Apologies to Jon Favreau, but there’s much more to fine whiskies than simply ordering the Glen’s. Whisky tasting is truly a sensory evaluation incorporating sight, smell, taste, and touch. Gin-clear or treacle? Check your color bar. Toasty or citric? Survey your Pentlands Wheel. This is a great opportunity to pick your favorite liquors before you restock your bar. A few friendly tips… skip the cologne and you may mix in a bit of water, just enough to dull the prickle sensation when you sniff the whisky straight.

WhiskyFest Logo.jpgWhiskyFest features more than 200 of the world’s finest, rarest, and most expensive whiskies from both undiscovered and the most renowned distilleries. The “king o’ drinks” is supplemented with a gourmet buffet to cleanse the palate and soak up the alcohol. They also pour special blends for the VIP’s… one key ingredient is always a good backstory. Ease into the event with Whisky Week at the underground speakeasies including Rye, 83 Proof, the Fifth Floor, Alembic, Elixir and Bourbon & Branch.  Master distillers, proprietors and whisky experts will be leading several of these courses.

They say one of the best ways to avoid a hangover is to drink expensive whisky.
