A John Waters Christmas
My friend, it has been too long.
But you deserve your first holiday treat… special pre-sale access to the John Waters Live Christmas Show. Why not a Chanukah or Kwanzaa show, you ask? My aren't you PC. Well, like Christmas, this event is for one night only.
John Waters has spent a lifetime mesmerizing audiences as a film-maker (Pink Flamingoes, Hairspray), artist, author (Role Models), and even as a first-grade teacher. Now, he brings his vaudeville act to San Francisco…
Is it ever okay for a 101-year-old to get a facelift?
The Roxie, San Francisco's oldest continually operating theater, just completed her renovation. She's still a classic beauty, but now she radiates with her restored veneer. Located in the heart of the Mission at 16th Street and Valencia, the Roxie is one of the only movie houses featuring a Peerless Magnarc projector. Nope, they don't make 'em like they used to… most movie buffs believe that the carbon arc lamphouses produce a superior picture with warmer and truer colors. And now the bass is bumping like a lowrider in a Dr. Dre video—Pixar Studios and the Community Futures Collective donated a state-of-the-art THX Dolby Surround system with 16 digital speakers and a couple subwoofers.

They say you can't judge a book by its cover... but that was long before there was the magical Kindle 2 which absolutely requires a cover for safety and style.
The Kindle 2 might not have come into this world naked... but pretty darn close. Amazon's prepackaged cover would've been great for a hotel pad of paper and a pen. But job numero uno for a cover is safety. (safety never takes a holiday.) So for a $300+ device, I require a durable cover that will protect my Kindle if I accidentally gravity test it.
The Bobarra Thoreau cover has 4 elastic bands securely latching my Kindle into the cover. Thoreau once said that “books are the carriers of civilization.” But when civilization needs to carry their book, they don't want to be worried about dropping them. For someone who is always running around, I sincerely appreciate the safety of the Thoreau.
But I'm not one to compromise on style. I love the sleek brown leather with fastidious stitching around the edges... professional and cool—I've gotten a few inquiries about where I purchased this cover while riding the bus around town.
Overall, I am very happy with my Kindle 2 and love my Thoreau cover.
